So proud of our son Elliott. First off he's an all around good guy with a generous good heart - and as if all of this isnt enough he is also so he wonderfully intelligent.
Elliott made a decision to join the Navy a couple of months ago and the last couple of weeks have been a flurry of activity getting him tested and getting him ready to sign a contract for the early entry program. This means once he signs his contract he will be officially part of the US navy with a ship out day scheduled. He will finish up his senior year, graduate, and then have a few weeks off before boot camp.
He recently completed some if the aptitude testing required and scored higher than the recruiter had ever seen, in fact it qualified him for entry to the nuclear engineering program which few get to be a part of.
Today was one if the final stages towards his contract which involved his physical. After this was all taken care of we headed back to the recruiting office where they told us there was one piece left...to do a background check on me because I wasn't born here in the US. Once that's done he will be given a contract and a ship out date.
Elliott has really florished in the last few months he's been living here, his grades have gone up, he's no longer failing classes, hes so much happier and calmer and most importantly, he's in a routine of success. Isn't that what we all want for our children and ourselves?
Congratulations El. We adore you and are so proud to have a son like you. Today was the first step towards your Naval Career. The next 9 months is going to be full of endings and beginnings, but one thing will never end or change and that's our love and faith in you.
